A 27-metre wall bringing the Calanques into Corinne Vezzoni’s architecture.
The project is by architect Corinne Vezzoni, in partnership with Pascal Laporte and Maxime Claude. In 2020 she received the Gold Medal of the French Académie d’Architecture.
The architects wanted a wall that evoked the Calanques. It is hidden behind a basketball hall, in a kind of 5-metre corridor, with very little room to step back. We sculpted 27 metres in length and 7 in height, with 25 routes, then painted the rock in the dazzling white of Marseille’s calanques.
The architects were so impressed with the result that they invited television crews.
